Day 3 / Being told I'm not experienced enough

I Asked Before I Felt Ready

Did

Reached out to podcasters, DevRel professionals, and product builders I admire. Shared what I've built, what I'm learning, and asked to connect.

Overcame

Most didn't reply. One did. Naman invited me for a 30-minute conversation to discuss AI, product building, and career growth.

Learned

You don't need to be 100% ready. Don't reject yourself before someone else has the chance to say yes or no. Just ask with genuine curiosity.

What happened

Today, I challenged the belief that I’m “not experienced enough.”

Instead of waiting until I felt more qualified, I reached out to people whose work I genuinely admire—podcasters, DevRel professionals, and engineers who have expanded beyond engineering into product building, GTM, and content.

I introduced myself, shared the AI projects I’ve built, explained what I’m currently learning, and asked if they’d be open to a conversation.

Most didn’t reply.

One did.

Tomorrow, I’ll be speaking with Naman for 30 minutes to learn from his journey and exchange ideas.

What I learned

You don’t need to be 100% ready before reaching out.

The biggest rejection often comes from yourself.

Give people the chance to say yes or no.

Sometimes, one genuine message is all it takes to create a new opportunity.

Tomorrow: Another uncomfortable challenge.
